Mark Dilley to debut new
Dodge Charger at CASCAR Mopar 250
Barrie, ON – May 19 2005: Most drivers in the CASCAR Super Series use the
winter off-season to relax. But with the loss of his long-time sponsor,
Mark Dilley had a big chore ahead of him, and only a few months to bring
it together. Tuesday’s big CASCAR Media Day at the new Toronto-area NASCAR
Speedpark unveiled the results of his relentless pursuit – the new #9
Dodge / Power Water Charger.

"This is a huge move for Dodge" said Dilley who hails
from Barrie ON. "They continue to be a long-time sponsor of events through
their Ontario Dodge Dealers Association and Mopar Parts but committing to
assisting me in campaigning a clone of the new Dodge Charger driven in
NASCAR Nextel Cup by Casey Kahne is overwhelming for me. And the only bad
thing about him winning the first race in a Charger last Saturday night at
Richmond VA - is that he did it before I even had a chance!!"
"But you ‘gotta know that I could never have put this deal together
without the commitment also from Power Water, Mopar, Mobil 1 and Exide who
stepped up to join my long-time supporters Avenue Motor Works, CRS
Trucking, Leland Industries and National Waste Services."
"And, a big thanks to Whitlock Motorsports for getting this car together
in one week, and in total secrecy so we could debut it with the new street
version of the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T at Media Day. Absolutely nobody
publicly knew what was under that cover." cont'd

"I also have to say how
honoured I am to be in this position. I have never changed car numbers in
my life but this begins a new era not only for Dodge with the Charger but
for me too. Now it’s up to me; it’s time to win - for Dodge, for all of
the other sponsors, for my crew chief Giulio Montanari and all of the
others on my team, and for Whitlock Motorsports. This is my chance to stop
being Mister Nice Guy; this is war."
Dilley’s #9 Dodge / Power Water Charger takes to the track at Delaware
Speedway this Saturday afternoon for initial practice at noon followed by
qualifying at 3 pm. The 12th annual Mopar 250 kicks of the 2005 CASCAR
season on Sunday. Gates open at 11 am with the famous on-track 1-hour
autograph session at 11:15. The green flag waves at 2 pm.

"The win by Casey Kahne represents the first Dodge
Charger victory in 27 years, making us hopeful the lucky #9 will continue
its racing success in this season’s CASCAR series" said Pearl Davies,
Senior Manager, national Advertising, DaimlerChrysler Canada. Proudly
built at Brampton Assembly plant, the 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T will
be hitting the streets later this year with its 5.7-litre HEMI V-8
offering an estimated 350 HP – in two colours: Top Banana and GoManGo.
