Kawartha CASCAR finale nets Whitlock second
Wyoming, ON Sep 19 2005: Dave Whitlock had fastest
qualifying time until the #17Dodge of DJ Kennington showed up. And that
was the story of the day as DJ blew away everybody all day ot claim his
4th win of the season. Whitlock started second and finished second.

“DJ had one of those dream days that happen only a
few times during your career” said Whitlock. “The only time I might have
been able to get him was on restarts but as good as our Avenue / NMT
Dodge was today, there’s no way I could’ve held him off.” Whitlock
pitted twice to DJ’s once but the #39 Whitlock crew could not make
enough adjustments to catch that Castrol Dodge.
“We finished the season 4th in points” said Whitlock.
“We’re never real happy unless we’re number one but we had a few tough
races this year. This Series is so competitive that there is little room
for error. And I need to say thank you for another wonderful season for
our great sponsors like Avenue Motor Works, NMT, CRS Trucking, Hawk
Performance, MY Classic Auto Body, EATON Hydraulics and all the others
that contribute to our efforts here at Whitlock Motorsports.”

In the final event for the Power Water Sportsman
series, rookie-contender Michael Gold fell victim to heavy damage in
early race crash and although the Whitlock Motorsports crew did get him
back in the race, his #97 Compass Imaging Group Dodge did not finish the
race. It was most unfortunate for the young engineering student from
Sault Ste Marie since he missed earning the Rookie title by just two
points.
Dave left that race immediately for Detroit and a
flight to Dallas where he will meet up with his road course car and Pit
Stop Tour on display for the annual EATON Distributor Meetings at the
Gaylord Texan Convention Center on Monday and Tuesday.
