WHITLOCK EIGHTH IN CASCAR RETURN TO
EDMONTON
Tuesday July 25, 2006, Edmonton, AB: Dave
Whitlock in the #39 Dodge Charger finished eighth in
Saturday's Griddly Headz 100 at the City Centre Airport
facility in Edmonton Alberta. CASCAR last competed at this
facility in 2000 and the teams were excited to be added to
the Grand Prix of Edmonton schedule in this it's second
year.
Whitlock and the #39 NTN-Bower/Nitrex
Metal Technologies team were pleased to add Headz Gamez
Enterprises and their Griddly Headz™ games logo to the
quarter panel of the race car for the weekend. Griddly Headz™
games are truly original - in concept, play and subject! The
idea of all the "All Sports All Star' team players going up
against the Pro's is as new and exciting as the game itself.

Friday their were two practice sessions
and the #39 Dodge Charger continued to get faster each time
out. Late Friday was the first of two qualifying sessions
and Whitlock was shown thirteenth quickest on the score
sheets. Saturday morning dawned hot and the Whitlock team
made some changes and the resulting ninth quickest time in
the second qualifying session showed they were going in the
right direction. Record temperatures were the order of the
weekend as the thermometer climbed to almost 100 degrees on
Saturday afternoon prior to the Griddly Headz™ 100 main
event. An early caution that lasted for seven laps was the
only blemish on the thirty two lap event and after starting
in the ninth position the Whitlock Dodge Charger finished in
eighth. "The car was pretty good," stated Whitlock after the
event. "It was a little lose at the end but I still got up
underneath teammate Mark Dilley as we raced to the checkered
flag. I almost got him but he finished seventh and we took
eighth. It was great racing in front of so many race fans, I
couldn't believe how full the grandstands were."
