| DILLEY COMES
FROM BACK TO FINISH NINTH IN EDMONTON
Edmonton, AB, Monday July 28, 2008:
Mark Dilley driver of the No. 9 Dodge Avenger started
the Edmonton NASCAR Canadian Tire Series 100 on Saturday from the
twenty first starting position and battled back for a ninth place
finish.
Dilley’s Dodge sponsored Avenger was eleventh
quickest in practice and they stepped it up a bit in qualifying with
the eighth fastest time. However due to a clutch problem during the
qualifying session, the team had to make repairs. NASCAR rules
state that if you remove a sealed item on the car after qualifying
you must start at the rear of the field for the main event. As the
transmission is a sealed part and it had to be removed to replace
the clutch, Dilley was forced to move to the twenty first starting
position for the race.

The three caution periods helped the No. 9
Dodge move up with the field being so spread out it is hard to
pass. “We had a decent car today and we are happy we were able to
get from 21st to 9th in only 32 laps,” said
Dilley after the race. “The cautions helped us as it closed up the
field and gave us the opportunity to pass more cars.”
Finish: 1st Alex Tagliani, 2nd
Scott Steckly, 3rd Andrew Ranger, 4th J. R.
Fitzpatrick, 5th D. J. Kennington.

DILLEY GOES DOWN TWO LAPS BUT COMES BACK
TO FINISH FOURTH
A flat tire while leading almost costs Dilley a good finish
Sun Valley Speedway, Vernon, British Columbia
- Mark Dilley driving the No.9 Dodge Avenger fought back from two
laps down to finish fourth Saturday night in the A & W 300.
Dilley was again good right off the trailer and
with minimal changes he was near the top of the practice times early
Saturday afternoon. When qualifying was completed the No. 9 Avenger
was scored as 3rd quickest overall which had them lining up second
row on the inside for the drop of the green flag. On lap 136 Dilley
would take his Dodge sponsored Avenger to the front until a flat
tire sent them to the pits for a new tire. Upon returning to the
track Dilley was two laps down to the leaders and he set out to
eliminate that deficit. A caution on lap 217 had Dilley in position
for the free pass, after having made up one lap on the track. The
No. 9 Avenger driver was now back on the lead lap and ready to go to
the front. A hotly contested battle ensued and Dilley ended up the
night with a 4th place finish. "Not bad for all the things we
overcame tonight," said Dilley after the race. "I got up on the
wheel after we went down two and we got the breaks when we needed
them and my crew did what needed to be done as usual. We had radio
issues off and on all night to so communication was sketchy."
