DODGE TO SEVENTH Montreal, Quebec, Tuesday August 5, 2008: Mark Dilley driving the No. 9 Dodge Avenger finished the NAPA 100 at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in seventh on Saturday. Two days of racing and the No. 9 Dodge performed excellently, allowing Dilley to move up two spots in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series championship standings.
After qualifying on Friday, Dilley's No. 9 Dodge would be lined up in row five on the outside for Saturday's NAPA 100. Dilley knew with thirty-three competitive cars on the track, patience and consistency would be important. Waiting for the opportunities to come his way he was able to steadily pick off competitors in front of him to cross the finish line seventh. "This was a good day for the No. 9 Dodge," stated Dilley after the race. "Every year the competition gets tougher and tougher on these road courses so I am really happy with the car and whole teams performance this weekend." After twenty-three exciting laps of racing, Andrew Ranger was able to take the checkered flag for the win with points leader Scott Steckly taking second and last years winner Kerry Micks finishing up the podium order. D. J. Kennington and Don Thomson Jr. made up the remainder of the top five. Dilley's great finish moved the No. 9 Dodge team up two positions in the NATIONAL Championship points to eighth, just twenty four points out of sixth heading to Mosport Speedway this Saturday for the Full Throttle Energy Drink 200.
