Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Sunday September 21, 2008: Mark Dilley brought his No. 9 Dodge Avenger across the finish line in fourth on Saturday night in the Atlantic Dodge Dealers 300 at Riverside Speedway in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Dilley was consistently in the top ten during practice on Saturday afternoon and when the qualifying round was complete he was shown to be fourth quickest of the twenty-three cars who timed.

The green flag was dropped for the start of the Atlantic Dodge Dealers 300 and the grandstands were full of enthusiastic and eager race fans. Dilley settled into fourth where he would stay for the early portion of the race. On lap 176 when the caution flew Dilley headed to pit road from the third position to take on tires and fuel.

When the No. 9 Dodge Avenger returned to the track for the green flag he was being scored in the sixth position. Dilley would get up as high as second during the final hundred laps, but dropped back at the finish to fourth. “We hustled all day and my team did a great job,” said Dilley after the race. “We are glad to take a fourth place finish out of here and overall it was a good points day for us to. We all had a great time here as usual and want to thank the Atlantic Dodge Dealers and the people at Riverside Speedway for putting on this great event for us.”

Andrew Ranger was leading the event with five to go when contact with Peter Gibbons on a late race restart would see Ranger bumped back to a sixth place finish. Gibbons was penalized for the move and Don Thomson Jr. was the beneficiary as he inherited the lead. Thomson went on to win the race with his teammate J. R. Fitzpatrick taking second and Ron Beauchamp Jr. was third.

The Atlantic Dodge Dealers 300 will be broadcast on Saturday Oct. 4th at 11 a.m. EST on TSN.

Dilley remains in sixth in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series point standings only three behind fifth place Kerry Micks. Event thirteen and the last on the schedule will take place next Saturday Sept. 27th at Kawartha Speedway. For more event information please visit www.kawarthaspeedway.com.
