Saturday's NAPA 100 on the 14 turn, 2.710 mile
circuit was held in front of a full house of
enthusiastic race fans as Whitlock lined up for the
start in row seven on the outside. Smart racing was
the plan, get into single file, get a feel for the
car and then start picking off the competition and
that is exactly what Whitlock did. "Our whole goal
today was to finish this race in the single digits
and we did that with the ninth," stated a happy
Whitlock after the race. "With thirty-three
competitive cars here we knew we had our work cut
out for us. The car performed flawlessly and my team
did a great job working on the Dickies Dodge today."
2007 Champion Andrew Ranger was able to finish
the deal this year after narrowly losing the event
to J.R. Fitzpatrick last year. Scott Steckly the
current points leader and last years Montreal winner
Kerry Micks were on the podium with D.J. Kennington
and Don Thomson Jr. rounding out the top five.
Whitlock Motorsports heads to Mosport Speedway on
Sat. Aug. 9th for event eight of the thirteen race
NASCAR Canadian Tire Series for the Full Throttle
200 in eleventh in the Championship standings, a
mere 30 points out of the top ten. Dave Whitlock and
his team are all revved up about this return to
Mosport Speedway, site of their last win. "We would
like nothing better than to put our Dickies Dodge
into victory lane this weekend," stated Dave
Whitlock.
The NAPA 100 from Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will
be aired on TSN on Saturday August 16th at 12 Noon
EST.
