WHITLOCK PARTNERS WITH
PCRFC
Whitlock to promote
awareness for Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of
Canada
Wyoming,
ON: Dave Whitlock is pleased to announce today that
his #39 Dickies/NMT Nitrex Dodge Avenger team is
partnering with the Prostate Cancer Research
Foundation of Canada for 2008.
“Given the fact that cancer has stricken my
family numerous times, I am a keen supporter of any
type of cancer detection," stated driver and team
owner Dave Whitlock. "One goal of the Prostate
Cancer Research Foundation of Canada is to inform
men about prostate cancer testing, early diagnosis
and early treatment. I am very honoured to be able
to assist them in getting their message out to the
male population in NASCAR."
The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada
is the leading national organization devoted solely
to eliminating the threat of prostate cancer. Their
mission is to raise funds for research into the
prevention, treatment and cure of prostate cancer by
engaging Canadians through awareness, education and
advocacy. Since 1997, the Foundation has invested
more than $17 million in research and public
education initiatives. This includes current funding
of more than $1 million each year in the most
promising research at cancer centres across Canada.
“The challenge in educating men about the threat
of prostate cancer starts with getting their
attention in the first place,” said Greg Sarney,
Vice President of Corporate Development and
Marketing for the Prostate Cancer Research
Foundation of Canada.
