| DILLEY MISSES
WIN BY INCHES IN FULL THROTTLE 200
Bowmanville, ON, Sunday August 10, 2008: After a rain delay on
Saturday resulted in re-scheduling the Full Throttle Energy Drink
200 to Sunday, Dilley drove his No. 9 Dodge Avenger to a second
place finish missing the top spot by inches.
After Saturday's practice session, the threatening rain moved in
resulting in the cancellation of the remainder of the days
activities and a revamped schedule for Sunday.
With rain showers in the area early on Sunday morning, qualifying
was cancelled and the race would be started based on the current
NASCAR Canadian Tire Series points. The No. 9 team currently were
shown eighth so Mark Dilley lined up for the start of the Full
Throttle Energy Drink 200 on the outside of the fourth row.

Dilley knew he had a good car right from the drop of the green
flag. On lap 111 when Dilley brought his Dodge to the attention of
his crew he was running in second behind points leader Scott Steckly.

They returned to the track in the same one two position as they
went in. Steckly's run of good finishes ended on lap 125 with a
blown motor and the No. 9 Dodge inherited the lead.
Dilley was not seriously challenged through several ensuing
re-starts until lap 198 when a little tap and run by Kerry Micks
moved him up enough to allow the No. 02 car to get by. A valiant
effort was made by Dilley on the last turn of the last lap to get
back by, but Micks beat him to the line by a mere .085 seconds.
"What can I say, you know the gloves are off on the last couple
of laps and I tried hard to get back inside him on the last lap but
couldn't get on the gas soon enough to get by him at the flag," said
Dilley. "I'd be lying if I didn't say I was disappointed but second
is good and we are glad to get our No. 9 Dodge back on the podium."
Steckly in the No.22 Dodge Avenger's string of top finishes ended
after he again led the most laps (125) before his engine expired. D.
J. Kennington finished third with Don Thomson Jr. fourth and Peter
Gibbons 5th. Dilley gained another position in the standings and now
sits seventh, two points out of sixth and eighty out of the top
five.
The Full Throttle Energy Drink 200 will be broadcast on Sunday
August 17th at 12 Noon EST.
Next up for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series teams is the final
