| DILLEY TOP
FIVE IN MONTREAL
MONTREAL, QUEBEC (Sunday August 30, 2009): Mark Dilley driver of
the No. 9 Dodge Avenger set his sights on a top five finish on
Sunday in the Napa 100 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He was
successful as he crossed the finish line in fifth.

The No. 9 Dodge/Leland Industries Avenger driver qualified for
the Napa 100 on the 14 turn 2.7 mile road course in seventh. “The
crew got the car just right for me for qualifying,” stated Dilley
after the times session.

After a couple of early cautions the drivers settled into single
file order and Dilley was cruising in seventh. Midpoint of the race
Dilley dropped back a couple of spots but as the laps wound down he
was able to make them back. A last lap incident in front of the No.
9 Dodge had Dilley scrambling. He got through it with minor damage
and NASCAR red flagged the race and then threw the checkered flag.
The race ace was considered complete giving Dilley the fifth spot.
“We had to dodge a few bullets today,” commented Dilley after the
race. “That last lap deal probably shouldn’t have happened but we’re
happy with our fifth place finish today.”
On the final lap several cars got together with the result being
the No. 22 car of Scott Steckly ending up on its roof.
J.R. Fitzpatrick led for over half the race and cruised on to
take the win with Andrew Ranger, Kerry Micks and D. J. Kennington
rounding out the top five.
The Napa 100 will be broadcast on Saturday Sept. 12th at 11 a.m.
EST on TSN.
Next up is the return to Mark Dilley’s home track Barrie Speedway
in two weeks on Saturday Sept. 12th. This will be event eleven in
the thirteen race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2009.
Mark Dilley would also like to acknowledge and thank his other
sponsors including: Leland Industries, Mobil 1, Exide, Avenue
Motorworks and CRS Trucking.
