| DILLEY PUTS ON
A SHOW AT RIVERSIDE

ANTIGONISH, NOVA SCOTIA (Sunday Sept. 21, 2009):
Mark Dilley put on a driving clinic on Sunday at the
Komatsu 300 In Antigonish, Nova Scotia. He qualified eleventh,
moved to the front of the pack by lap 100, got a one lap penalty
from NASCAR when pitting, then the No. 9 Dodge driver lapped the
entire field once and all but two cars twice to finish third.
Saturday the teams
arrived at the track to steady rain. NASCAR eventually called it a
wash and rescheduled everything for Sunday afternoon. Dilley drew
the short card for qualifying and went out first to take his laps on
a cold track resulting in an eleventh quickest time.

At the drop of the
green for the Komatsu 300 it was obvious Dilley had a fast race
car. By lap 100 he was on Rangers back bumper and a couple of laps
later he would take over the lead. Ensuing pit stops had NASCAR
calling for a one lap penalty for the No. 9 Dodge and a frustrated
Dilley lined up at the back of the 19 car field for the restart. It
was then he started the show. Over the final 140 laps the No. 9
Dodge passed the entire field to get his lap back then continued to
knock off the lead lap cars one at a time until the checked flag
flew and he was in third place. `What a hot rod,” said Dilley after
the race. “I knew by lap three that we had a good one. We just
needed a caution over the last 150 laps and we would have had the
field covered.”
This is Dilley`s third
top five finish over the last three races as the Ultra Motorsports
team prepare for event 13 of the 13 race 2009 NASCAR Canadian Tire
Series in Peterborough at Kawartha Speedway on Saturday Sept. 26th.
Finish: 1. Andrew
Ranger 2. Jeff Lapcevich 3. Mark Dilley 4. Ron Beauchamp Jr.
5. Donald Chisholm
Andrew Ranger all but
sealed the deal as the 2009 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series championship
as he won his sixth race of the season. Second place went to Jeff
Lapcevich while Ron Beauchamp Jr. and Donald Chisholm rounded out
the top five.
The Komatsu 300 from
Riverside Speedway will be broadcast on Saturday Sept. 26th
on TSN at 2 p.m. EST.
