MOTOR FAILURE IN NO. 9 DODGE AT ST. EUSTACHE
Autodrome St. Eustache, Sunday July 12, 2009: The No. 9 Dodge of Mark Dilley suffered engine failure shortly after the hundred lap mark of the Tide 250 at Autodrome St. Eustache on Sunday afternoon. The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series teams arrived in St. Eustache on Saturday morning but soon after rain moved into the area. With thunder storms showing up on the local radar, NASCAR made the decision to cancel the event for Saturday and reschedule to Sunday afternoon. As usual Dilley practiced and qualified near the top of the charts. The Avenger driver lined up on the outside of the third row and quickly moved up to third. But again as has been the case in 2009 gremlins found them and Dilley retired his No. 9 Dodge behind the wall. A late race battle between Scott Steckly and D. J. Kennington had Steckly coming out the victor for his first race win of the 2009 season. Finish 1. Steckly 2. Kennington 3. John Gaunt 4. Andrew Ranger 5. Dave Whitlock. The Tide 250 from Autodrome St. Eustache will be broadcast on TSN on Sunday July 19th at 2 p.m. EST. Dilley now prepares for the three race Western road trip. Event #5 on the schedule is this Saturday July 18th at Sun Valley Speedway in Vernon, British Columbia. The following Saturday the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series teams will compete on the temporary road circuit at the Municipal Airport in Edmonton in the Rexall Edmonton Indy. Winding up the trip will be a stop at Auto Clearing Speedway in Saskatoon, SK on Wednesday July 29th.
