| GREAT WEEKEND
ENDS IN DISAPPOINTMENT FOR DILLEY
Trois Rivieres, QC, Sunday August 16, 2009: Mark Dilley arrived
in Trois Rivieres this weekend with his No. 9 Dodge Avenger with
high hopes to turn around their season.
Everything was going according to plan when the No. 9
Dodge/Leland Industries Avenger started smoking and a rear gear was
determined to be the culprit delegating them to a nineteenth place
finish.
Dilley started off the weekend with a strong practice and
qualifying effort and he was enthused about his chances for a top
five finish in Sunday’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series GP3R 100.
At the drop of the green flag Dilley settled his Dodge Avenger
into the tenth position where he would run for the early laps. By
the half way point he had worked his way to eighth and was looking
to move up a few more positions when NASCAR called the No. 9 Dodge
to pit road due to smoking.

The crew did an inspection and found that the rear end gear had
failed likely due to heat and they were done for the day. “I was
really looking forward to this race today,” said Dilley after the
event. “My car was really good all weekend and I was confident of a
top five finish for the Dodge team today but we will try again in
Montreal in two weeks.”
Andrew Ranger won his fifth race in 2009, setting a new record
for the number of wins in a season followed by Anthony Simone, D. J.
Kennington, Jacque Villeneuve and Ron Beauchamp Jr.
The GP3R 100 from Trois Rivieres will be broadcast on Saturday
August 29th at 12 noon EST on TSN.
In two weeks the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series returns to Quebec
for the Nationwide weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. For a
