WHITLOCK STRUGGLES WITH ILL
HANDLING CAR IN A & W 300

Vernon, British Columbia (Sunday July 19, 2009): It
was a challenging night to say the least for the No. 39
Dickies/NMT/Prostate Cancer Canada/POINTTS Dodge
Avenger. The car was a handful all night long until a
late race pit stop for four new Goodyear tires and some
adjustments got it to a point where Whitlock could
muscle it around the corners and after 300 laps the
result was a tenth place finish.
The No. 39 driver qualified the Dickies Dodge in the
eighth starting position in race number five of the
thirteen race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series schedule and
he battled hard to finish in the top ten.

“We have run here fairly decent in the past,” stated
Whitlock after the race. “It was just a handful all
night long – really loose. We made a couple of
adjustments but with only a few cautions there wasn’t
much chance to make it better.”
Andrew Ranger posted his first oval track win with
Scott Steckly close behind in second. Ron Beauchamp Jr.,
D. J. Kennington and Kerry Micks rounded out the rest of
the top five.
Dave Whitlock and his No. 39 Whitlock Motorsports/Dickies/NMT
for event two of the three race Western swing next
weekend at the Edmonton Rexall Indy.
