3 Time CASCAR Super Series ChampionMY CHECKERED PAST PROVIDES A WINNING EDGE!

I have been successful in accomplishing realistic goals set at every level of racing I have competed in. I have been able to achieve them, through commitment, dedication, organization and hard work.

Of the many merit awards received, I am most proud of the consideration shown by fellow ACT racers in voting me the Sportsman Award 3 out of the 4 years in that series.

I was the first CASCAR driver to be sponsored by Ford of Canada, a relationship that spanned eleven consecutive years.

I was the founding race team in 1992 of the R.C.M.P. Racing Against Drugs Program, which is now a Nationally recognized drug awareness program. Every year I have attended numerous charity and volunteer functions to support many different causes, as well as many trade shows, public auto shows and dealer appearances for Ford and other affiliated sponsors.

I have successfully operated a construction company for the past 14 years, and know what it takes to keep a company and employees operating. I have successfully fielded a second team in CASCAR for each of the last 5 years, and have a great appreciation for the importance of teamwork in motorsports. I have been very hands on in the fabrication and set up of all my racecars. This, along with my driving talent, has been a large part of my success. I believe a huge asset to any team is having a driver that fully understands the complete operation of a race vehicle.

I am eternally grateful to my wife Corinne, my three young daughters - Chelsea, Carlene, Carissa, and my mother and late father – Janet and Doug for their continued support. This is truly a family experience. My crew, many still with me since the early years, have been undaunted in accepting their challenges and have been recognized many times for their perseverance and commitment. And to the many, many sponsors and friends who have helped achieve our goals

I owe thanks, forever
Dave Whitlock

Dave's Career Highlights

2007 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series     -      #39 Dickies/Hamiton Tiger Cats Charger

Finish:   11th

                One Podium

                Three Top Fives

2007 was a challenging year for Dave Whitlock and his Whitlock Motorsports team but they have put that all behind them as they focus on having a strong 2008 season.  Pierre Bourque was again behind the wheel of a Whitlock Motorsports Dodge competing in six events with a season best finish of seventh at Trois Rivieres.

2006 CASCAR SUPER SERIES          #39 Avenue / NMT Intrepid

  • Finish -   4th

  • Wins:

    • Cayuga - Hot Head Henry 200

    • Mosport - Mosport 200

Another strong season with 3 podiums, 4 top fives and 10 top tens in eleven events. Finishing in the top ten in all but one event netted the #39 Avenue/NMT team an average finishing position of 6.3 over the season.

Whitlock also fielded the #29 Driving.ca Dodge Charger for Pierre Bourque in three road course events. The Edmonton Grand Prix, the Grand Prix Trois Rivieres and the Montreal Grand Prix where Bourque continued to improve with finishes of 25th, 12th and 12th respectively.

2005 CASCAR SUPER SERIES          #39 Avenue / NMT Charger

  • Finish -   4th

  • Poles:

    • Delaware - APC 300

    • Calgary - MOPAR 300

While posting no wins in the 2005 season they came close on a few occasions, posting 4 podium finishes, 6 top fives and 9 top ten finishes. This consistency kept them in the hunt all year and contributed to the final fourth place finish. This year would see the top three or four teams complete all but a handful of the race laps and the points amassed by Whitlock this year would have realized a championship in many other years.

2004 CASCAR SUPER SERIES          #39 Avenue / NMT Intrepid

  • Finish -   3rd

  • Wins:

    • Cayuga Atto Canada Day Shootout

    • Calgary Race City MOPAR 500 Weekend

  • Pole:

    • Peterborough Dodge Dealers of Ontario 200

The one-race support from Avenue Motor Works for Dave's 03 win at Calgary blossomed into a full sponsorship this year.  That allowed the team and Crew Chief Warren Jones to focus on maturing their efforts and tweaking the Dodge configuration, resulting in an average starting position of 5.5 and an average finish of 5.3.  The Avenue / NMT Dodge was 3rd in points after the first event, and was in 2nd only 7 points behind leader Peter Gibbons after the third event.  But the late season charge of five poles, four podiums and three wins by Don Thomson Jr. was hard to overcome and Dave ended the season in 3rd, back only 83 points.

The Team also fielded the #10 Dodge for Vancouver’s Glenn Mueller in both Indy events for sponsor Green Line.  Another highlight was finally achieving a one-two finish by Dave and Mark, and it happened twice with the roles reversed each time.

2003 CASCAR SUPER SERIES

  • Finish - 16th

  • Wins:

    • Delaware MOPAR 300 Weekend
    • Calgary Race City MOPAR 500 Weekend
    • Peterborough National Fast Freight Delivers the Leland 200

Capitalizing on the maturity of their multi-car team environment, Whitlock Motorsports introduced a third team in 03, which captured the Rookie award.  But the big news was the switch to Dodge.  With a stable of seven cars, the challenge in the shop for Dave was to successfully manage the transition for all three drivers.  And he did it well, coming out of the box with a victory for himself in his first event ever in a Dodge.  The 'fall-guy' disqualification is well-documented in our archives surrounding that event.  That loss of all points created a deficit not to be regained, but created an opportunity for a guest driver contract, which allowed Dave to compete in a fourth entry for two events. Winning a total of three events in 2003 was certainly gratifying.

2002 CASCAR SUPER SERIES

  • Finish - 3'rd

  • Wins:
    • Autodrome St-Eustache AUTOPRO / NAPA 150
    • Autodrome Montmagny Snap On Tools 200
    • Delaware Great Canadian Race Twin 100s Sprint #1
  • Fastest Qualifier:
    • Autodrome St-Eustache AUTOPRO / NAPA 150

This was certainly the maturing year for Whitlock Motorsports as a multi-team company. Yet changes were many as Ford elected to have Dave represent their Fast Lane Tire and Auto Centers brand. Also new: crew chief Warren Jones, formerly with one of the major Dodge teams; a 53’ Featherlite 4-car transporter; the Kenworth T2000 and sponsor CRS; and an interactive Pit Stop Tour that amassed almost 40 independent appearances.  Winning both Quebec events, the final 100 lap qualifier at Delaware and one pole was supported by good finishes through most of the other events and netted a great improvement in final point standings.

Winner - Twice

  • Autopro NAPA 150 - Autodrome St. Eustache

  • Snap on Tools 200 - Autodrome Montmagny

2001 CASTROL CASCAR SUPER SERIES

  • Finish - 16'th

  • Wins:

    • Cayuga Mac Tools 250
    • Calgary Mopar 500
  • Fastest Qualifier:
    • Delaware Mopar Parts 250
    • Delaware Great Canadian 300

16'th was not what the Whitlock Motorsports team was looking for but with 2 victories and strong initial showings at every event they are looking forward to 2002 with renewed optimism and enthusiasm. Victims of circumstances at many events, the entire organization is wholly committed to being better prepared than ever before and no detail has been overlooked. Even the car number will change for 2002 and serious Whitlock fans know that a number change has preceded each of Dave's 'career moments'.

Winner - Twice

  • Cayuga Mac Tools 250

  • Calgary Mopar 500

Top 5 - 3 times

Fast Qualifier

  • Delaware Mopar Parts 250

  • Delaware Great Canadian 300

2000 CASTROL CASCAR SUPER SERIES

  • Finish  - 4th National Series - 5th Eastern Series

After a disappointing first event, the National season came together with a podium finish in the final event. And with two additional podiums in the Eastern series, and seven Top 10s overall, this team fought adversity for almost every finish. Consistency will take this team back to the top.

The off-season gave us time to complete our move to the new 5000 sq. ft. home of Whitlock Motorsports and prepare for the 2001 10th Anniversary Tour.

Top 5 - 5 times
Top 10 - 7 times

1999 CASTROL CASCAR SUPER SERIES

  • Finish  - 7th National Series - 7th Eastern Series

The potential of a three-peat National crown turned into a year of frustration, but success was greater than the actual results indicated. A second full-time team was finalized late and with a new engine and chassis program for both teams, the strain on the crew lasted until mid-August. With 1 DNF and an average finish of 12th, the first pole in two years at the biggest and final National event of the season became a true highlight and a great inspiration for 2000.
